GTA 6 Publisher Unfazed by Xbox Series S Performance Concerns

Strauss Zelnick, the head of Take-Two, seems unfazed by the challenge of ensuring that GTA 6 will be compatible with Microsoft’s Xbox Series S console.
The Xbox Series S, a less powerful counterpart to the Xbox Series X, has posed difficulties for developers since its launch. Notably, it was the reason behind delays for games like Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox. The developer of Dune: Awakening also acknowledged the challenges of preparing the game for the lower-powered Xbox Series S.
Despite these issues, Take-Two is not worried about optimizing GTA 6 for the Series S. Zelnick addressed concerns during a recent earnings call, noting that the new entry in Rockstar’s franchise would be pushing technical boundaries. He assured that the team would always find a way to support platforms with varying levels of technology.
Zelnick emphasized his confidence in the audience’s interest in great properties, stating that being on multiple platforms is essential. He highlighted the growth of the PC platform and expressed optimism about its increasing importance in the console business. While praising the PC platform, he hinted at the possibility of supporting it in the future, although a PC release for GTA 6 has not been confirmed yet.
GTA 6 is scheduled for release next autumn, with Take-Two expressing strong confidence in meeting this deadline. For more details about the game, check out everything we know about GTA 6 so far.
