Take-Two Firmly Confirms GTA 6 Release Date Despite Delay Speculations

Take-Two, the publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6, has reaffirmed the anticipated late 2025 release date, dispelling earlier rumors of a potential delay by Rockstar.

During their recent financial briefing, Take-Two confirmed that GTA 6 is slated for a fall 2025 launch, in line with previous expectations. Alongside this blockbuster title, the company also announced upcoming releases such as Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country, both set for a launch window between April 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026.

In addition, Judas, the highly awaited game from Ken Levine, the creator of BioShock, currently lacks a specific release date and is marked as “TBA”. This marks a shift from earlier indications that the game would be out by the end of March 2025. Fans caught a glimpse of Judas at The Game Awards in December 2022, which bore a striking resemblance to the BioShock series, but updates have been scarce since then.

Ken Levine’s last project, BioShock Infinite, hit the shelves in 2013, over a decade ago, highlighting the anticipation surrounding his next creation.

Despite the age of its predecessors, Take-Two highlighted the continuing success of Grand Theft Auto 5, released a decade ago, which has sold over 205 million units worldwide. The lucrative GTA Online component has also surpassed expectations, driven by ongoing player engagement and new content updates.

Strauss Zelnick, the head of Take-Two, emphasized the strong performance of GTA 5 and GTA Online, with the latter experiencing sustained growth, including a 35% increase in GTA+ subscription membership. The company has also reported ongoing success with Red Dead Redemption 2, which has sold 67 million copies since its launch six years ago.

Zelnick dismissed speculations of GTA 6 being offered through subscription services like Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, asserting that Take-Two’s strategies are based on sound decision-making.
