Report Debunks Rumors of Grand Theft Auto 6 Delay

Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, has reaffirmed its commitment to the game’s scheduled autumn 2025 release date, following recent rumors of a delay.

Speculation about a potential delay for GTA 6 had circulated this month, leading to concerns that the project might be pushed back to 2026. However, the company’s latest annual report has now clarified that the game is still on track to be launched in approximately one year’s time.

“Rockstar Games remains dedicated to the franchise and intends to launch Grand Theft Auto 6 in the fall of 2025,” stated Take-Two Interactive. “The studio unveiled the game’s first trailer in December 2023 and will gradually reveal more information about the title.”

In a recent report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, several Rockstar employees mentioned they had not heard of any delays to the game, although they acknowledged that a decision by executives could have been made without widespread staff knowledge.

Earlier this year, Take-Two Interactive expressed confidence in Rockstar Games’ ability to deliver an exceptional entertainment experience with GTA 6, predicting significant growth for the company.

If Grand Theft Auto 6 stays on course, it will be released almost 12 years after the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5, which has achieved an incredible 200 million copies sold to date.
