Exclusive: Mysterious GTA 6 Leak Surfaces from Inside Rockstar’s Headquarters

Leaked images supposedly from inside Rockstar’s San Diego office have surfaced online, showing a computer screen displaying what appears to be GTA 6 in action.

The leaked image itself, showcasing the main character Lucia standing next to a wall and some crates, doesn’t reveal much about the highly anticipated game. What makes this leak intriguing is that it seems to date back to the summer of 2021, approximately three and a half years ago.

The fact that the image was captured within Rockstar’s own offices and then shared online by an individual seemingly unafraid of potential repercussions adds a layer of mystery to the situation.

The image and two accompanying video snippets, offering a brief glimpse of the office environment, were initially shared on Reddit by a user named JustLovett0 about 17 hours ago. They claimed that the image was taken by someone they knew during their brief stint working at the Rockstar office. The post was titled “a photo from mid-2021. I think it’s been long enough I can post this.”

While the office setting appears quite ordinary, the distinctive Rockstar San Diego building is recognizable from the exterior visible through the windows.

Nearby desks featured PlayStation and Xbox developer kits, with one labeled “SAND,” likely a nod to San Diego.

In response to concerns about potential repercussions, JustLovett0 reassured that their acquaintance is now far removed from Rockstar and no longer associated with the company or similar industries. They hinted at deleting the post in the future, contemplating the lack of camera footage from over three years ago.

Although the original post has been taken down, it has resurfaced on Reddit. Eurogamer has reached out to Rockstar for a statement regarding the leak.

This incident follows a significant leak in September 2022, when a teenage hacker from the UK accessed a substantial amount of in-development GTA 6 content. Despite the culprit’s subsequent arrest, they were ultimately deemed unfit to stand trial, marking one of the most notable video game leaks in history.
