Take-Two “Not Worried” About GTA 6 Running on Xbox Series S
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently addressed concerns about Grand Theft Auto VI‘s performance on Microsoft’s Xbox Series S console, a less powerful version of the Series X. While the Series S has posed challenges for some games—such as the delayed release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox and Dune: Awakening‘s developers noting technical difficulties—Take-Two remains unconcerned about adapting GTA 6 for the platform.
In a recent earnings call, Zelnick expressed confidence, saying, “Our labels are really good at [adapting to hardware differences]. I’m not really worried.” He emphasized that Take-Two’s focus is on making sure the game is accessible across platforms as long as the audience demand is there.
Zelnick also highlighted the growing importance of PC, stating it would continue to play a significant role in the console business. He noted Take-Two’s selective approach to platform support, ensuring the tech aligns with audience demand. However, he made no specific mention of a PC release for GTA 6 yet, although Rockstar’s longstanding history suggests that it could follow after the console debut.
With GTA 6 scheduled for Fall 2025, Take-Two remains “highly confident” that the launch window will be met.
